Land Surveying explained…

Land surveys are provided to identify and document existing conditions, whether they are natural or manmade. The extent of the survey required is dependent upon its intended use. Boundary, or property line, surveys are required by many state and local ordinances whenever property is subdivided or ownership is transferred. This includes the identification of the property lines, easements, and flood plain lines. Development permits are typically required from state and local regulatory agencies prior to the initiation of construction, and detailed land surveys are often required to obtain them. This includes the boundary surveys as well as topographic features such as elevations, utilities, and trees.
